Mr.Hershel Lee Flood

Mr. Hershel Lee Flood, age 90 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Flood was born in Look Out, Georgia on May 18, 1924, son of the late John Albert Flood and Willie Bartow Quarles Flood. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Force. Mr. Flood was a retired mill worker, farmer and bus driver for the Chattooga County School System. He loved to Cattle and Chicken Farm, Camp and Fish. In addition to his parents, Mr. Flood was preceded in death by brothers, Otis Flood, Elbert Flood, and Allen Flood, a half brother, Robert Bishop; sisters, Rosie Hampton and a half sister, Lula McGuire Mr. Flood is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Flood; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Wylene and Gene Wesson and Cheryl Lee and Neal Black; three grandchildren, Bob (Denise) Wesson, Tim Wesson and Zach Cooper; great granddaughter, Jenna Claire Cooper. Funeral Services for Mr. Flood will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Westlund and Rev. Bryson McCauley officiating. Interment will follow in the Flood Familiy Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Wesson, Neal Black, Andy McArthur, Bob Wesson, Tim Wesson and Zach Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nieces and Nephews and James MacAgnew, Jerry Hamby, Billy Locklear and Charles Black. Mr. Flood will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
