Mrs.Marion Edith Barker

Mrs. Marion Edith Barker, age 94 of Town Creek, Alabama, formerly of Chattooga County, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Barker was born in Moultrie, Georgia on January 25, 1924 daughter of the late Allen Wright Bailey and Mary Rebecca Self Bailey. She had worked for a short time as a spooler at the Shannon Cotton Mill and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, William Grady Barker; sons, Lewis Barker and Toby Barker; and sisters Ruth Ingle and Ernestine "Shorty" Bailey; and a grandson, Mackey Potts. Mrs. Barker is survived by her children, James William Barker, Ronnie LaDale Barker, Joyce Laverne Weatherby, Judith Fowler, Deborah Hawsey and Linda McDurmond; sisters, Martha Gray, Vaudie B. Bailey, Carolyn Bailey and Louise Bailey; grandchildren, Tonia Orr, Tammy McMann, Regina Loveless, Marsha Reynolds, Shane Byrd, Cheryl Jackson, Dannie Lassiter, Sandy Arledge, Amanda Yawn, Lindy Yawn, Mindy Yawn, Selena McDurmond, Ronnie Barker, Jamie Barker, Rhonda Barker, Cindy Barker and Ranessa Barker; several great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Barker will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jackson Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Arledge, Drake Harper, Austin Vines, Mark Cole, Rod Arledge, Eric Wallace and Jacob Adams. Mrs. Barker will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
