Mrs. Nancy Watkins

Mrs. Nancy P. Watkins, age 78 of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, formerly of Trion, gained her Heavenly wings and now is in the presence of the Lord.  Nancy passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Watkins was born in Summerville, Georgia on July 22, 1942, daughter of the late Joseph Wesley White and Annie Lee Byars White.  She started her nursing career at Battey State Hospital in Rome, Georgia and continued her nursing career for over 56 years in Chattooga and Floyd Counties.  Mrs. Watkins was a faithful member of the Summerville Church of God for 78 years, serving in many of the Ladies’ Ministries for a number of years.  She met the love of her life, Cecil, while eating out with friends in Summerville. They were married a year later on October 17, 1959.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles W. White and Harold D. White; sisters, Martha F. Edwards, JoAnn Stoker and Patty Joyce Stoker.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her husband of 62 years, Cecil W. Watkins (J.J.); daughters, Sandy (Dolly Madison) White and Candy and Tim Hatcher; grandchildren, Randy and Amanda Vaughn, Angel and Shakespeare Vaughn, Mitchell and Nicole Hatcher and Austin and Heather Hatcher; great grandchildren, Ella Vaughn, Israel Vaughn, Nathan Hatcher, McKinlee Hatcher, Lincoln Hatcher and Charlotte Faye Hatcher; and a number of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Watkins will be held Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Winston and Rev. Danny Harkins officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Woodall, Greg Koonce, Tony Wigley, Larry Stoker, Charles Keen and Mark Stoker.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Vaughn, Austin Hatcher, Mitch Hatcher, Tammy Keen, khristy Winston, Ginger Harkins and Members of the New Generation Church of God.

Mrs. Watkins will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

The family of Mr s . Watkins asks that anyone attend ing the services, to please follow the CDC guidelines as it pertains to social distancing and social gatherings , and to please wear a facemask .
