Patti Thompson Willingham

Mrs. Patti Thompson Willingham, age 50 of Summerville, went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2019 suddenly at the Floyd Medical Center.

Patti was born in Rome, Georgia on May 29, 1968, daughter of James G.Thompson and the late Patsy Ann Millican Thompson. She was the wife of Eddy Willingham and they shared 30 years of marriage and four children together. She was an employee of the Mayo Clinic and a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church. Patti and her husband had previously served together as youth leaders at both North Summerville Baptist Church and Perennial Springs Baptist Church. She served as a church pianist for 36 years. She enjoyed being with her family and playing with her grandbabies.

Patti is survived by her husband, Eddy; sons and daughters-in-law, Adam and Jessi Willingham, Jesse and Abbigail Willingham, and Joshua Willingham; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Garrett Hurley; grandchildren, Reed and Avery Willingham, and Rett Hurley; father and step-mother, James and Joyce Thompson; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Jeremy Croy; 4 nieces and two nephews; and dozens of children served through the church. In addition to her mother, Patsy, Patti was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Gregory Thompson.

Funeral Services for Patti will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dry Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Duvall, Larry Elliott and Tom Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Odom, Matthew Odom, Chad Stricklin, Caleb Millican, Lenny Wilson, and Joseph Willingham. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ignitors Sunday School Class.

Patti will lie in state at the Dry Valley Baptist Church where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9 :00 P.M.

Flowers will be accepted, however those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
