Mr. Richard Lamar Rape

Mr. Richard Lamar Rape, Sr., age 61 of Lyerly, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Rape was born in Collinsville, Alabama on February 7, 1956, son of the late Houston Richard Rape and Eva Jewell Copeland Rape. He was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God and prior to ill health, was employed as a truck driver with Wright's Sanitation. He enjoyed working with lawnmowers and cars and was always "piddling" with something. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rape was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Cooper and Doris Rape. Mr. Rape is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Lamar Rape, Jr., Joseph Dwayne and Jordan Rape and Jonathan Lee Rape; daughters and son-in-law, Marlana Eva Ann Rape and Gloria Jean Rape and her husband, Jason Smith; sister, Nancy Louise Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Danielle Rape; 4 grandchildren, Haley Marie Rape, Travis Levi Rape, Zachariah Rape and Emma Nicole Starr Rape; one great grandchild, Braxten Matthew Caldwell; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Rape will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Rockland Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Moseley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Williams, Chris Trammell, Dustin Walker, Gary Rape, Jonathan Rape and David Cabe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Peterson, Johnny Peterson, Alton Smith, Michael Smith and Christopher Smith. Mr. Rape will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
