Mr. Rickey L Wood

Mr. Rickey L. Wood, age 66 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Wood was born in Trion, Georgia on December 21, 1950, son of the late Winston Pete Wood and Sarah Louise Gravley Wood. He was a 1968 graduate of Chattooga High School, member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church, the Fellowship Class, and prior to retirement, was employed with Bigelow-Sanford and Mohawk Industries. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Tapp and a brother, Randy Wood. Mr. Wood is survived by his wife, Marilyn Rush Wood; daughter and son-n-law, Susan and Todd Murdock; sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Jerry Tucker, Sherry Johnston, and Lori Johnston; grandchildren, Graci Murdock and Chloe Murdock; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Wood will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Duvall and Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Proctor, Bruce Cordell, Ricky Cavin, Mike Floyd, Gaylon Rush and Billy Stallings. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class of Dry Valley Baptist Church, Bo Bryan, Raymond Winters, Ricky Stinson and Jerry Wofford. Mr. Wood will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
