Mr. Robert "Bob" Samuel Martineau

Mr. Robert Samuel "Bob" Martineau, age 91 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Martineau was born in Syracuse, New York on November 5, 1923, son of the late Fred Martineau and Patricia Colby Martineau. He was graduate of the Blodget Vocational High School in Syracuse, NY, was a semi-pro football player and a Syracuse Fire Fighter. Mr. Martineau was a member of the Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center and was a retired Service Manager with the Motorola Corporation. Mr. Martineau was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corps, where he was a fighter pilot in the 49th Fighter Group in the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan. While in the service, he earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 Battle Stars, Army of Occupation Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martineau was preceded in death by his first wife, Dottie Martineau; son, Rob Martineau; and a brother, Fred Martineau. Mr. Martineau is survived by his wife of 21 years, Brenda Bowling Martineau; sister, Rose Murphy of Lake Wells, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Dom Giamartino; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Odis Grogan, Rebecca and Steve Dyer, Dorothy and Andy Hutchins, Marlene and Robert Watwood, and Dwight and Wanda Bowling; best friends, Jerry and Angelia Oskorep of Chicago; and a number of nieces and nephews . Funeral Services for Mr. Martineau will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 3:00 P.M, in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Hutchins and Rev. Dollas Messer officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Grogan, Steve Dyer, Greg Dyer, Cole Fannin, Andy Rowe, Jason Maples, Bryn Hutchins and Ty Hutchins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brothers-in-law, Odis Grogan, Steve Dyer, Robert Watwood, Andy Hutchins, and Dwight Bowling. Mr. Martineau will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
