Mr. Roy Erskin Berry, age 95 of Cartersville, Georgia, formerly of Summerville, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026 at his residence.
Mr. Berry was born in Limrock, Alabama on August 22, 1930, son of the late Emmett Rutledge Berry and Myrtle Carden Berry. He was a member of the Beersheba Presbyterian Church, where he was also an Elder. Mr. Berry was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He had worked as a sales manager with the Chick Gatewood Company and the Kennett Dairy, and was also the owner of The Strip Shop in Birmingham, where he restored antiques and built custom furniture. He loved working with horses and was one of the kindest people you could meet and was willing to help anyone.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Berry was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Sestito and Nell Jefferys; a brother, Homer Berry; a sister-in-law, Rose Helen Berry; and a nephew, Joe Sestito.
Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Kathy Berry; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bob Williams, Laura and Terry Hardin, Faith and Larry Jones and Becki and Vince Duenas; step-son, Bill Johns; brother, Emmett Berry; a nephew, Butch Sestito; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a number of additional nephews and nieces.
In accordance to his wishes, Mr. Berry will be cremated and the family will hold a memorial service at the Beersheba Presbyterian Church at a later date.
The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Beersheba Presbyterian Church, 9977 GA-337, Summerville, GA 30747.
