Sherman "Shotgun" Durham

Mr. Sherman Eugene "Shotgun" Durham, Jr., age 59 of Trion, Georgia passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Kindred Hospital in Rome. Mr. Durham was born in Summerville, Georgia on December 28, 1957, son of Roy Eugene Durham and the late Martha Pearl Collins Durham. He had been employed with Mount Vernon Mills, and his hobbies included fishing, riding around the back roads, playing cards, playing in the snow, spending time making new friends, but most importantly spending time with his family. In addition to his mother, Mr. Durham was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Durham. Mr. Durham is survived by his wife, Debbie Sue Durham; son, Jeremy Ladale Jones; daughter, Sandra Renaye Peace; father, Roy Eugene Durham; brother, Billy Joe Durham; sisters, Denane Caldwell and Marlene Smith; grandchildren, Branden Salas, Johnathan Ash, Ryan Peace, Amber LeAnn Peace and Breanna Jones; great grandchildren, Branden Lee Salas, Jr., Shyanne Jane Callahan, Braxton Anthony Callahan, Hunter Lane Davis, Johnathan Taylor Ash, Jr., Cameron Drew Dowdy and Aubree Dianna Dowdy; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Durham will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Berryton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnathan Taylor Ash, Brandon Lee Salas, Ryan Alexander Peace, Caleb Collins, Scottie Caldwell, Jacob Caldwell, and Pete Huggins. Mr. Durham will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.
