Mrs. Shirley Ledford

Mrs. Lillian Shirley Ledford, age 73 of Mentone, AL, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at her home in Mentone following an extended illness. Mrs. Ledford was born in Birmingham, AL, on March 28, 1944, daughter of the late Jay Glass and Dorothy Glass. She was retired from Golden Gallon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ledford was preceded in death by her step-mother, Naomi Glass and special, loving grandmother, Lillian Thompson, who cared for her from an early age after her mother's death. Mrs. Ledford is survived by her children, Joe (Dee) Ledford, Mentone, AL; Susan Broome and Ann (Ray) Ledford, Trion, GA; Pamela (Cliff) Bradshaw, Rome, GA; one special sister, Dorothy Green, Summerville, GA; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ms. Ledford will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Petitt Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home with Chaplain Matt Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jimmy Brown, Matthew Mitchell, Joseph Broome, Jason Mashburn, Tristan Cauthen, Tim Stewart, and Ray Thurman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dorothy Rogers, the Staff of the Fort Payne and Gadsden offices of Amedisys Hospice which include: Meghan Kerr, Ashley Guffey, Lauren Rutledge, Elizabeth Sprayberry, Matt Rose, Kelley Strain; all friends at Golden Gallon, and one special little furry friend, Lily Bug. Mrs. Ledford will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
