Mr. Steven Bruce

Mr. Steven Boyd Bruce, age 55 of Trion, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his residence, following an extended illness.

Mr. Bruce was born in Trion, Georgia on October 27, 1963, son of David Lewis Bruce and the late Frances Irene Lee Bruce. He was an avid bowler, bowling in the Seven Hills League of the Greater Rome Bowling Association. He was a member of the 300 Club in 2012, and loved to fish and work in the garden. He was a die-hard NASCAR Fan, with his favorite driver being the #9, Chase Elliott. Mr. Bruce had been employed with Blue Bird Bus Company for 22 years, Mt. Vernon Mills and for the last 5 years, was associated with the Lowe’s Distribution Center. He was the greatest husband, father, paw-paw, and friend, but he especially excelled at ‘dabbing’ with his grandkids. Mr. Bruce was a member of the Ridgeway Baptist Church.

Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife, Rachel Bruce; daughter and son-in-law, Suzie and Frank Parris; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon Bruce and Savannah Foreman; father and step-mother, David and Brenda Bruce; sister and brother-in-law, Christina and David Taylor; brothers and sister-in-law, David Wayne Bruce and Ricky and Denise Bruce; step-brothers, Donny(Janice) Watkins andDennis(Sonya) Watkins; step-sisters, Lisa Watkins and Jenny(Tate) Kellett; grandchildren, Perri Parris, Piper Parris, Jasper Brown, Peyton Bruce, Allie Bruce, Kyliee Reed, Brylee Reed and Aubree Foreman; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bruce will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike White, Todd Carden, Alan Locklear, Dewayne Locklear, Chris Carden, Charles Radford, and Brandon Bruce. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Seven Hills Bowling League, Cody McArthur, his Talladega Friends and Family, Chad Bruce, Keith Bruce and Mickey and Louise Cooper.

Mr. Bruce will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
