Trion, GA

Susan Renea Broome, of Trion, Georgia, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on May 14, 2025 at the age of 62.  Susan was born on October 5, 1962, in Birmingham, Alabama.  Susan passed surrounded by many loved ones and touched countless lives with her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

Susan is survived by her beloved children, Joseph (Kiersten) Broome and Kaysea (Jonathon) O’Neal, and her cherished grandchildren: Kaidynn Broome, Cayson Evans, Chandler Evans, Nash Evans, Caytlyn O’Neal, Renleigh Broome, and Kalyx Broome. Susan also leaves behind her siblings, Ann Ledford, Pamela (Drew) Parham, Joe (Dee) Ledford along with a number of nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her memory.

Susan dedicated her career to helping others, working as a Resident Manager and earning a diploma in Medical Transcription, along with certificates in Office Assistance and Word Processing. She had a lifelong love of flowers and gardening, and her green thumb brought beauty to every space she touched. She also had a spirited side—Susan loved her Jeep and the freedom of the open road, especially when it led her to one of her favorite places: Gatlinburg, Tennessee. A proud Alabama native, she was a devoted fan of Alabama Football—Roll Tide!

Coffman Funeral Home is managing her cremation wishes.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date for family and friends to gather and honor her life.

Susan lived by the words: “Love like Jesus. John 15:12.” Her deep faith, warm heart, and joyful spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.
