Sylvia Frances Bobbitt Byars

Mrs. Sylvia Frances Bobbitt Byars, age 88 of Ramsey Road, Summerville, GA passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at her residence.  Mrs. Byars was born October 11, 1923.   Mrs. Byars was a homemaker and a member of the New Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Byars was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Byars, Sr.; son, Robert Lee Byars, Jr.; brothers, Ray Bobbitt and Junior Bobbitt Mrs. Byars is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and John Sweeney of Navarre, FL, Sue and Ricky Cannon of Rising Fawn, GA, Donna and Ron Burke, Reeda Walker, Debbie Bryant; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Byars of Summerville, GA; grandchildren, John Sweeney III, Candi Tucker, Joey Byars, Chris Byars, Jeff Cannon, Emily Cannon, Mark Byars, Jamie Tucker, Justin Stephenson, Billy Bryant III, and Casie Cavin; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Freeman, Ernest, James, Jimmy, Bobby and Grant Bobbitt. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Studdard and Rev. Doug Mattox officiating. Mrs. Byars will lie-in-state Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Pallbearers will be John Marvin Sweney III, Bobby Joe Byars, Christopher Lee Byars, Jeffery Peter Cannon, Mark Allen Byars, Justin Wayne Stephenson, and William Culberson Bryant III. At the famiy's request, the interment will be private for family only.
