Tony Garrett Gilreath

Mr. Tony Garrett Gilreath, age 67 of Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Gilreath was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on September 29, 1958, son of the late Herman Lyvone Gilreath and Frances Jeanette Gilreath. He was retired from Heritage Wire in Fort Payne, and was an avid fan of all college football, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilreath was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Marie Gilreath.

Mr. Gilreath is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Dustin Kown; brother, Michael Gilreath; grandchildren, Heaven Shaw, Destiny Gilreath, Serena Kown, Hunter Gilreath and Alyssa McElhaney; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Mr. Gilreath’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family may hold a private memorial service at a later date.
