Mr. Virgil Cody Chastain

Mr. Virgil Cody Chastain, age 76 of Ringgold, Georgia formerly of Trion passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Chastain was born in Trion, Georgia on August 20, 1941, son of the late Virgil Ernest Chastain and Agnes Waits Chastain. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldog Fan and loved to fish, and was retired from Shaw Industries. Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Chastain and two sisters, Gail Chastain and Ann Henderson. Mr. Chastain is survived by his wife, Carolyn Chastain, sons and daughters-in-law, Josh and Ashley Chastain of Ringgold, Tony and Sonya Hall and Mark and Amy Hall of Lafayette and Wade and Jennifer Hall of Ringgold; sisters, Linda Abernathy and Betty Mitchell; 10 grandchildren, Gage, Seth Derrik, Kaitlyn, Rylie, Savanna, Sam, Shelby, Aislyn and Kaeden; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Chastain will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Goodman officiating. Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Mitchell and Charles Mitchell. Mr. Chastain will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 5:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
