Mrs. Virginia Sue “Gina” Nichols, age 68 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Nichols was born in Ringgold, Georgia on December 20, 1952, daughter of the late Willie Ralph Cooper, Sr. and Betty Jane Johns Cooper. She was a member of the Center Point Baptist Church in Lafayette and was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. She was the head majorette in the Chattooga High School Band and had played piano at several churched throughout the area. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Nichols; sisters, Ann Steiner and Gail Morgan; and brothers, Ralph Cooper, Jr. and Wayne Cooper.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by a daughter, Eisa Marco; son and daughter-in-law, Wess and Wendy Collette; grandchildren, Braxton Sanford and Lilly Keith; granddog, Grizzly Collette; nieces, Deborah Cargle, Mary (Josh) Scarbrough, Lisa (John) Ramos, Betty (Brian) Wimberly, Jane Lynch, and Carrie Tucker; and nephew, Bobby Riddle; and a number of great nieces and great nephews.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Nichols will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. in the Sonrise Community Church with Rev. Tracey Espy officiating. The family will have a private committal service at a later time.
