Archie Harold Thomas

Mr. Archie Harold Thomas, age 90, a resident of Culleoka, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 11, 1932, in Walker County, Georgia, Archie was the son of the late Henry Andrew Thomas and the late Ethel Odessa Campbell Thomas. He married Charlotte Dean Williams on May 2, 1954; she preceded him in death on April 20, 2022. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on USS Bennington and USS Rodman. Archie worked many years for General Motors before retiring. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ where he loved attending. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and working on and collecting old cars. Above all, he loved his family and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Tim “Red” (Bridget) Thomas of Culleoka, daughter, Cindy J. (Terry) Fox of Culleoka, grandchildren, Leslie G. (Brad) Jewell, Brandy (Dale) Bolton, Nicole (Ted, Jr.) Wray, Brooke Fox, and great grandchildren, Dylan Wray, Addison Jewell, Nickolas Wray, Avery Jewell, and Hannah Bolton.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include the Hospice Compassus nurses and health aids, Jennifer, Pam, Missy, and Dylan, Al Hogan, and Mr. White of Highland Church of Christ, and Archie’s surrounding neighbors.
