Mrs. Celia Newsome Peace

Mrs. Celia Newsome Peace, age 88 of Trion, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Peace was born in Trion, Georgia on January 27, 1935, daughter of the late Carl Gene Newsome and Edith Beatrice Glenn Newsome.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church.  She loved to cook, work puzzles, watch Wheel of Fortune and tend to her flowers.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peace was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Doyle Peace, on December 20, 2019, and 3 sisters, and 1 brother.

Mrs. Peace is survived by her daughters, Sally Davis and Cindy Peace; son and daughter-in-law, Biff and Kitty Peace; grandchildren, Michael Crabtree, Jimbo Crabtree, Stacy Crabtree, Brian Chandler, Leigh Todd, Eric Peace, Ashley Peace and Collin Peace; 19 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Peace will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Hanks officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Crabtree, Jimbo Crabtree, Stacy Crabtree, Brian Chandler, Eric Peace and Collin Peace.  Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Peace will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
