Mrs. Jean Dealver Owens

Mrs. Jean Dealver Owens, age 90 of Lafayette, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Owens was born in Subligna, Georgia on June 10, 1931, daughter of the late Geoffrey Clingman Hayes and Minnie Evans Hayes.  She was the mother of 5 children that adored her and the wife of her childhood sweetheart for over 64 years until his passing in 2010.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, John Archie Owens; sons, Archie Randall Owens, Charles Owens and Dennis Wayne Owens; grandson, Chris Scott; sisters, Annie Ruth Pettyjohn, Jessie Harris and Lucile Henderson; brothers, Johnny Hayes, Ernest Hayes, Billy Hayes, Carl Hayes and Roger Hayes; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnie and Minnie Owens.

Mrs. Owens is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Debbie Owens; daughters and son-in-law, Jean and Joe Scott and Rose Marie Owens; grandchildren, Steve Owens, Carrie Jane Owens, Josh Owens, Adam Scott and Heath Owens; great grandchildren, Emma Owens, Landon Owens, Chaz Milican, Knox Owens, Kayden Owens and Karsyn Owens; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Owens will be held Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Harris officiating.  Interment will follow in the Weiss Lake Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Steve Owens, Heath Owens, Arnold Owens, Jack Parker, Eddie Owens and David Shipp.

Mrs. Owens will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
