Mrs. Lillie Mae Sentell Murphy

Mrs. Lillie Mae Sentell Murphy, age 96 of Gaylesville, AL passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Gaylesville, Alabama on January 27, 1926, daughter of the late John Jasper Sentell and Bertie Ada Morrison Sentell.  She was a member of the Menlo Church of Christ and was retired from Best Manufacturing.  Following her retirement, Mrs. Murphy and her husband, R.L. Murphy operated the Murphy Produce Stand at the Summerville Trade Day.  She was a great cook, baking many different cakes and pies, and loved spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 67 years, Robert L. “R.L” Murphy; grandson, John Lemons; great grandson, Gavin Ray Lemons; brother, J.L. Sentell and Clarence Sentell; and a sister, Mildred Stewart; and son-in-law, Ray Lemons.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Sue Murphy; daughters and son-in-law, Edith Lemons, Vikki Entrekin, Kathy and Bill Mobbs, Sheila and Sidney Bryson; son-in-law, Bill Entrekin; brother, Berlin Murphy; sister, Sara Tallent; grandchildren, Bobby(Sandra) Lemons; Michelle Lemons, Robert(Nikki) Murphy, Charles(April) Murphy, Edwin(Robin) Murphy, Shane(Tabitha) Murphy, Melissa Entrekin, Christine Entrekin, Dawn(Michael) Bowling, Brent(Emily) Mobbs, Shawn(Aubree) Bryson, Marcie(Nathan) Floyd, Craig(Pat) Entrekin, and Carole(Scott) Smith; 38 great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Murphy will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Minister Berlin Murphy, Minister Emerson Blythe and Gary McCurdy officiating.  Interment will follow in the Berea Church of Christ Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Robert Murphy, Charles Murphy, Edwin Murphy, Shane Murphy, Shawn Bryson, Brent Mobbs, and Bobby Lemons, representation of John Lemons.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Menlo Church of Christ; members of the Best Silver Club and the staff of Southern Care Beacon Hospice.

Mrs. Murphy will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.

Following the committal service, the family will be gathering in the Fellowship Hall of the Berean Church of Christ for those that wish to bring food for the family.
