Mrs. Linda Carol Black, age 79 of the Dry Valley Community, Summerville, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Black was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on March 8, 1943, daughter of the late William McKinley Butler and Opal Elizabeth Elders Butler.  She was a member of the Victory Tabernacle in Lafayette and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed scrapbooking and crocheting.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Andrew Black and sisters, Elzie Brown, Mary Owens and Virginia Dunn.

Mrs. Black is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Pamela Foster; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Charles Burgess; grandchildren, Ryan(Brittany) Brown, Lee(Brittany) Pruitt and Cameron Foster; 9 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Mrs. Black’s wishes, she will be cremated and the family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
